It's not just about printing wedding invitation cards and having traditional functions in weddings. Now a days , just to spice things up before a wedding, there are these pre wedding parties where the bride party with her friends and the groom with his, where there is a trend to get an erotic-adult themed cake with unusual things on it. Which was a trend in the west for years, but now since few years it has started in India as well. The youngsters are quite excited and bold about ordering these cakes and there is a defined awareness and excitement. The most surprising thing is, these cakes are been ordered more by women. This fashion is not just in the big cities there are a lot of orders coming from small towns as well.

Indians are still a little shy about discussing such matters, so ordering can be a little embarrassing. They never place an order at the shop, it mostly done on a phone or pictures are sent over chatting applications.

Here are some cake shop owners and customers sharing their experience

"Demand doubled in 2014 from a year ago," Aditi Kohli who is biased in Delhi , runs Papillon Cupcakes and More. "I have started getting more calls for bachelorette parties, especially during the marriage season. Most of my naughty cake orders come from close friends and women."

Deepika Khaitan, who is also a Delhi-based baker, had prepared eight of adult-theme cake. "Demand has increased by about 60% in the last one year, especially for bachelor and bachelorette parties."

Mumbai-based confectionery house Sweet Passions said. "Demand has gone up by 50% because of awareness." Also, kinky is no longer just a guy thing and that's something that can be expressed-safely and no doubt sweetly. "I was throwing a bachelorette party and wanted something naughty. Usually it's guys who fancy a bold theme, but I wanted us girls to have a good laugh and have an exciting time," said Ramanjot Singh,

Ram Reddy, managing director of Just Bake, said, "More women customers are ordering risque shape cakes for their partners for their bachelor parties, anniversaries and birthdays. In the last three years, our fun and naughty cake range has grown manifold. We make sure these cake shapes are tastefully done so that people have a good laugh and celebrate this occasion in their privacy."
